Dr. Claire Pavlikowski (Dr. Pav) is a native Tucsonan. She attended and graduated with honors from the University of Arizona (U of A) in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology. While at the U of A, she gained valuable experience working with the great team at Monument East as a veterinary assistant/receptionist.
Growing up in Tucson, she was very involved with Pima County 4-H and showed guinea pigs (cavies), alpacas, and dogs, amongst a variety of other projects. She continued to be active in 4-H as a volunteer and project leader in Arizona as an undergrad, as well as in Washington state during veterinary school.
She attended veterinary school at Washington State University (WSU) in Pullman, Washington. While in vet school, she participated in a WSU lab’s research projects on E.coli and its public health effects and presented a paper at Cornell University. She graduated in 2017 with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM).
She found the Eastern Washington Palouse with the fields of wheat and rolling hills magnificent and beautiful. Bear Down (U of A) and Go Cougs (WSU)!
Dr. Pav then moved to South Carolina for a position in veterinary general practice for 3 years encompassing a broad, diverse, and complex experience of cases. She appreciated the gorgeous, warm Atlantic beaches in stark comparison to the cold Pacific beaches she was familiar with.
Family, her love of the Tucson area mountain ranges, and the smell of a monsoon rain came calling and she returned to Tucson in the fall of 2020. She is grateful to be back with the team at Monument East!
Special interests are public health, rehabilitation therapy, and surgery. She is happy and thankful to be back in Tucson and available to provide thoughtful care to your pets and meet you all!
Dr. Claire lives with her husband, their 2 kids, 4 cats, and 2 dogs. She enjoys hiking, gardening, baking, and swimming in her spare time. Attending local guinea pig shows hold a special place in her heart as well.
